104 Year-Old Photos Emerges Of Praying Turkish Soldiers In Czechia

104 year-old photos emerged of Turkish soldiers praying at the hospital in Valasske Mezirici, Czechia. The soldiers, injured or sick on the Galician front during the First World War, were fulfilling their religious duties in the hospital where they were brought. There are also photos taken at the Institute for the Deaf and Dumb, where Turkish soldiers were awarded with medals by Austrian Archduke Leopold Salvator.

Turkey’s Ambassador to Prague Egemen Bağış initiated extensive studies by contacting the archives and museums in the cities of Pardubice, Hodonim and Valasske Mezirici in Czechia. The graves and monuments in the existing 3 Turkish Martyrs’ Cemeteries are also regularly maintained.
