114-Year-Old School in Tekirdağ Reopens After Restoration

Manika Elementary School, a historic institution built by the community in Turkish province of Tekirdağ 114 years ago, is set to reopen in the upcoming academic year. Located in Büyükyoncalı Neighborhood of Saray District, the school, originally known as Büyük Manika Elementary School, had been abandoned since 1998 when a new facility was constructed nearby. After years of disuse, the Tekirdağ Governor’s Office initiated a restoration project, and the school will now welcome students once again in the 2024-2025 academic year.
