1,5 tons of drugs that brought from Albania to Turkey, seized in Muğla city

In Turkey, as a result of an intelligence mission carried out as part of preventing smuggling, draining the financial resources of organized crime and terror groups, preventing the use and trade of narcotics, and fighting against crime and criminals, Izmir Provincial Gendarmerie Command conducted an operation on a ship towards morning on the sea near Fethiye district of Muğla city. Operation came after Izmir Provincial Gendarmerie Command’s Department of Anti-Smuggling teams conducted technical and physical surveillance on to a large amount of a form of marijuana which named “skunk” material that wanted to be brought from Albania to Turkey by sea, in line with the coordination and instructions of the Izmir city and Torbalı district Chief Public Prosecutor’s Offices. While conducted by coordination with Muğla Provincial Gendarmerie Command and support of Turkish Coast Guard Command, 1,5 metric tons of skunk material seized and 3 suspects related to the incident were taken into custody in the operation. Also, 3 pistols that found on the suspects were confiscated. Its been stated that investigation related to the incident is continuing.
