2 died, 7 injured in armed attack on Sikh Temple in Afghanistan

An armed attack was carried out on a Sikh Temple, which was dozens of people inside, by unidentified gunmen in Karte Parwan, located in the 2nd district of Afghan capital city of Kabul. “In the incident, 1 security guard from the Taliban forces and 1 citizen of Hindu origin lost their lives and 7 people were injured,” Taliban Interior Ministry Spokesperson Abdul Nafi Takur said on social media. Stating that the attackers who used grenades were killed in the operation, Takur noted that the explosive loaded vehicle that targeting the temple, exploded before it could reach its objective. “I think there were 30-40 dead and injured in the explosion, because I was a witness to the event. A large number of ambulances took the dead and injured to the hospital. Gunshots continued for a long time,” eyewitness Atiqullah said while describing his experiences. While the Taliban forces have closed all streets leading to the region to traffic, no one has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
