Hurricane Nicole, which made landfall in Florida, USA, killed 2 people and left over 237,000 homes and workplaces without power. According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, some houses on the coast were destroyed and others were severely damaged. In addition, 25 houses were declared structurally unsafe, and 24 hotels and apartment buildings in northern Daytona Beach Shores were declared unsafe, prompting evacuation orders.
Nicole was recorded as the first hurricane to hit the United States in November, nearly 40 years later.
