Two foreign nationals V.Z. and Ö.E.S. stepped on a mine while trying to cross from Syria to Turkey. The incident happened on the border line at Doğançay and Demırışık villages located at Turkey’s city of Kilis, in the 1st Border Regiment 2th Border Battalion Şimşek Border Post’s responsibility area. Both foreign nationals’ right legs severed due to mine explosion. 2 individuals were evacuated from the mined area with the help of the soldiers on the border line. Both taken to Kilis State Hospital with an ambulance called to the scene.
An investigation has been launched regarding the incident.
