Eastern China was jolted by a 5.5-magnitude earthquake today. It was reported that 21 people were injured in the cities of Dezhou and Liaocheng, which are close to the epicenter in the east of the country, and a total of 126 houses were destroyed. Rescue teams were dispatched to these regions.
The China Earthquake Networks Center stated that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers in Pingyuan region at 02.33 am local time.
The earthquake was also felt in the capital Beijing, which is 300 kilometers away from the epicenter. More than 60 train services were canceled in Beijing today.
