22 died, 40 injured in food disaster in Afghanistan

Heavy rainfalls caused food disaster in Afghanistan. Local sources stated that 22 people lost their lives and 40 more were injured in the disaster. As a result of heavy rainfalls that were effective in 12 provinces of the country, 500 houses were destroyed and 2,000 houses were damaged. Local sources also told that at least 300 animals were died and approximately 1,214 hectares of agricultural land was damaged in the flood. It’s announced that the provinces of Ghor, Badghis, Parwan, Samangan, Faryab and Baghlan are the most affected areas by the floods. While the International Red Cross Organization continues its aid efforts in the flood areas, it’s reported that the Taliban officials applied to international organizations for help.
