The Cappadocia region, which is one of the important tourism centers of both the world and Türkiye thanks to its fairy chimneys, unusual rock formations, beautiful valleys, underground and aboveground rock cities, hosted 243,632 visitors during the 9-day Eil al-Fitr break. According to the Nevşehir Governorship, the most visited ruins in the Cappadocia region during holiday were the Zelve Paşabağları and Goreme open air museums.
The Cappadocia region was included in the UNESCO Cultural and Natural Heritage list in 1985.
