243 detained in France after no-confidence motion vote results

Demonstrators took to the streets again in France’s Paris and Lyon, after the first of the two no-confidence motions against the government was rejected due to the lack of an absolute majority, following the approval of the controversial pension reform in the National Assembly.

Protesters overturned barriers and containers they had set up and set them on fire during demonstrations in Paris. Following the clash between the demonstrators and the police, who intervened using tear gas, a total of 243 people were detained, 240 of them due to arson.
