27 Dead in Bangkok Bar Fire

A late-night fire at an entertainment venue in Bangkok’s Chatuchak district has claimed the lives of at least 27 people. The sudden blaze sparked widespread panic, sending patrons fleeing as thick smoke and intense flames quickly engulfed the building’s entrance. Firefighters managed to bring the disaster under control within half an hour, and authorities are currently investigating the cause. Speaking at the scene, Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul revealed that a performing musician reported seeing “smoke rising from an electrical panel near the stage before the power went out,” immediately followed by a loud explosion. Tragically, the Prime Minister noted that most of the victims were found in the venue’s restrooms after the space rapidly filled with blinding smoke.
