3.900 hectares of forest land burned in Argentina

Forest fires that broke out at different areas in the Patagonia region of southern Argentina earlier this month couldn’t be brought under control for weeks. The Argentine Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development stated that the fight against forest fires that continue at different points in Chubut, Neuquen and Rio Negro provinces continues. It’s been told that hundreds of firefighters participated in the firefighting efforts, and helicopters and firefighting aircrafts also been supporting the firefighters. Meanwhile, it’s been pointed out that it was difficult to take the fire control due to the effects of high temperatures, dry air and wind. Local authorities announced that 3.900 hectares of forest area was burned to ashes in the fires and the fire keep spreading on. Argentina’s National Meteorological Service (SMN) warned that the dry and hot weather conditions that are effective in the region will also carry on in coming days with winds.
