A massive landslide has struck the construction site of the Wayanad Tunnel Project in southern India’s Kerala state, killing at least three people and injuring nine others. The devastating mudslide occurred near the Meenakshi Bridge in Kalladi, tearing through the temporary barracks where project workers were housed. Dramatic security footage captured the sheer force of the collapse as a rushing wall of mud swallowed nearby vehicles, including a large fuel tanker. With several individuals still believed to be trapped under the dense debris, emergency response teams are frantically continuing search and rescue operations. Once completed, the ambitious development is set to become the country’s third-longest road tunnel.
