At least 3 lost their lives and 816 were injured in the 5.9-magnitude earthquake that occurred yesterday in the city of Khoy in Iran’s West Azerbaijan province.
The West Azerbaijan Governor’s Office stated that the severe tremor that was recorded at a depth of 7 kilometers at 21:44 local time yesterday evening has damaged approximately 70 villages.
The Tehran University Seismology Center stated that the disaster was felt in the cities of Tabriz, Urmia and most severely in the capital, Tehran.
