On Friday, a fire broke out onboard a Russian Navy’s Gremyashchiy class, which also known as Project 20385, corvette that under construction at Severnaya Verf Shipyard in St. Petersburg, Russia. 168 personal from Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) and 42 fire engine respond to a fire that broke out on corvette, which was being in construction for Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation. In fire, 3 people wounded while being 2 of them are firefighters and 1 is an shipyard personal. Investigative Committee of Russia released a statement that indicating an investigation started to determine whether the fire was a sabotage or not, and it’s being reported that ship’s funnel and bridge completely burned to ground.
Previously it’s been stated that corvette, which fire erupted on Friday, would become part of the Joint Forces Command in northeast Russia and would be based in Kamchatka. Meanwhile, it’s been indicated that ship has total weight of 2.200 metric tons, 104 meters length, 13 meters wide, and can reach up to speeds of 27 knots and has range of 3.500 sea miles.
