30 shops go up in flames at Tehran Grand Bazaar fire

On Saturday, a fire broke out at 07:38 AM local time in the 2-storey “Timcheh Hajeb Al-Dowleh” market in the historical Tehran Grand Bazaar in Iran’s capital city of Tehran. Tehran Fire Department Spokesman Jalal Maleki stated that the shops in the bazaar were closed due to the fire and no casualties were reported in the incident. “30 shops were damaged in the fire. Firefighters arrived at the scene within 3 minutes. Our efforts to extinguish the fire are still continuing,” Maleki said. Maleki told that an investigation launched regarding the cause of the fire, and the firefighters are working with all their efforts.
