A chain traffic accident involving 42 vehicles occurred yesterday at 14:00 local time on a highway 25 km from the Hungarian capital Budapest. In the accident, 36 people were injured, 13 of them seriously. While 19 vehicles caught fire, many vehicles became unusable.
The Hungarian National Directorate of Disaster Protection stated that many firefighters and ambulances were sent to the region and the injured were transferred to hospitals by helicopters. It was stated that the accident may have occurred as a result of the dust storm in the highway area, which suddenly reduced the visibility.
