37 meters wide sinkhole forms in türkiye

A sinkhole with a diameter of about 37 meters and a depth of 12 meters occurred in the agricultural land of Seyit Hacı Plateau in the Karapınar district of Konya district of Türkiye.

Saying that they observed that the potholes increased intensively after the rainy periods, Konya Technical University Sinkhole Application and Research Center Director Prof. Dr. Fetullah Arık said that one of the important reasons affecting the formation of the sinkhole is precipitation, and the other is the earthquake activities that have taken place in the country recently.
