400 Children Flew Kites at Foot of Mount Kato

A colorful kite festival was organized by the District Youth and Sports Directorate at the foot of Kato Mountain in Beytüşşebap district of Şırnak province of Türkiye. Around 400 children flew kites, and a long circle for halay, a Turkish folk dance, was formed in the event. Soldiers on duty also attended the event.

“We have raised awareness on maintaining our traditional games that have almost been forgotten. Four thousand primary and secondary school students are here. This festival will continue every year from now on,” said Kemal Ülkü, district governor.

“It was a very nice event. Our spring festival is going well. They gave us kites,” said Rümeyse Cin.
