5.3 Magnitude Quake Hits Japan

A 5.3 magnitude earthquake struck Urakawa in Japan’s Hokkaido prefecture at 17:47 local time, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency. The quake, at a depth of 50 kilometers, was also felt in Aomori and Iwate. Authorities confirmed there is no tsunami risk and no casualties have been reported so far.
