It was reported that 4 people in the Atyrau region and 1 child in the Turkestan region died due to the ongoing flood disaster in Kazakhstan, which arose after the melting of snow since March 20. The total number of deaths jumped from 2 to 7. Meanwhile, the number of evacuated people rose to 117,694, and a total of 113,852 farm animals were transported to safe areas as well. 5,718 houses were still under water in Akmola, Aktobe, Kostanay, Aıtrav, and West Kazakhstan regions, said authorities.
The Kazakhstan Ministry of Energy stated that work on 634 oil wells was suspended and 16 thousand tons of oil were wasted in facilities in Aktobe and Atyrau regions.
