55 kilos of heroin seized at Gürbulak Customs Gate in Turkey

Turkish Ministry of Trade Customs Enforcement teams carried out an anti-narcotics operation at the Gürbulak Customs Gate located at Turkey’s Ağrı city. During the operation, a suspicious truck was stopped at Gürbulak Customs Gate and transferred to an x-ray scanning. As a result of a suspicious mass found on the base of the trailer during the scan, the truck was taken to the search hangar and checked by narcotic detector dogs. The suspicious areas were cut open after the narcotic detector dogs reacted to the bottom of the trailer, and it was determined that the spaces in the areas were used as a secret compartment. In the search of these compartments, 143 packages that arranged in strips with a special mechanism were found.

In the analysis of the powder substance in the removed packages with a drug and chemical test device, it was determined that the substance was a drug named heroin. As a result of the successful operation of the teams, a total of 55 kilograms of heroin and the vehicle used in the transportation of the drugs was seized. Also, the driver of the vehicle was arrested by the court where he was brought within the scope of the file prepared by the Doğubayazıt Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.
