6.1-Magnitude Earthquake Jolts Taiwan

A 6.1 magnitude earthquake occurred in the city of Hualien, located in the east of Taiwan, at 02.21 local time. The jolt was felt in the capital Taipei and surrounding provinces. No official statement has been made yet regarding the casualties and property damage.

At least 17 people died and more than a thousand people were injured in the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Hualien on April 3.
