6.2 Magnitude Quake in Northern China Kills Over 100

A 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck Gansu province in northwest China, centered in the Jishishan district of Linxia Hui Autonomous Region. It resulted in 105 deaths, 199 injuries in Gansu, and 13 deaths, 182 injuries in Qinghai province. Thousands of homes were damaged, causing power outages and infrastructure disruptions. Over 3,000 personnel, including Chinese army units, were deployed for rescue efforts amid ongoing aftershocks.
