The storm that started on Sunday killed 6 people and left major damage in 330 cities and villages in the Brest, Gomel, and Mogilev regions in the south of Belarus, according to the Belarusian Ministry of Emergencies.
It was reported that there was still no electricity in some parts of Mazyr, the city most affected by the storm and home to a large oil refinery.
“We have never encountered such a situation where lines in the Mazyr region and surrounding areas were interrupted before,” said Deputy Prime Minister Anatoli Sivak.
