6 missing, 1 died in flooding and landslide in India

A torrential rain caused flooding in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. One person died in the flood waters and at least 6 people were missing, accoridng to local sources. In Kullu, one of the areas most affected by the flood, houses were flooded and damaged. The bridge over the Parbati River, which connects the region to the center, was also destroyed.

In the Malana region, 10 vehicles were stranded in the flood waters. Landslides occurred in the Sirmaur region in the south of the state. As a result of the landslide, the vehicles parked on the side of the road were damaged.

The search and rescue efforts were disrupted due to the inability to reach the flood areas as roads were closed. The Himachal Pradesh state government has urged the public not to approach rivers and streams because of the risk of flooding.
