63 Arrested in Georgia Protests

 

During ongoing protests against Georgia’s “Transparency of Foreign Influence” bill, 63 individuals were arrested, and 6 police officers sustained injuries. Protesters amassed outside Tbilisi’s parliament, denouncing the bill’s reintroduction for parliamentary consideration. The atmosphere grew tense with chants opposing Russian influence. Despite warnings, clashes erupted between law enforcement and protesters, prompting the use of tear gas and water cannons by police, met with demonstrators hurling objects. Streets were barricaded amid escalating tensions.
