7.2-Magnitude Earthquake Jolts Russia’s Makchatka Peninsula

A 7.2-magnitude earthquake struck the Kamchatka Peninsula in eastern Russia yesterday at 22:10 GMT. The European Mediterranean Seismological Center reported that the jolt was recorded at a depth of about 29 kilometers.

The US National Tsunami Warning Center reported that there was a tsunami threat from the earthquake.
