76 People on Ferry Faced Fear of Sinking off Thai Island

A ferry traveling between Surat Thani and Koh Tao in Thailand with 70 passengers and six crew members began to sink after a malfunction broke out in the engine. Some of the passengers were evacuated to an inflatable emergency boat on the ferry, while a few jumped into the sea in panic. A couple of rescue boats and fishing boats arrived at the location, which was 7 kilometers away from the shore, to rescue the rest.

No action against the sinking boat could be taken due to the adverse weather conditions.
