An armed attack took place in a shopping center in Dallas, Texas, USA. Eyewitnesses also said that the attacker opened fire randomly. Eight people, including children, lost their lives, and seven were injured, three of them seriously, according to police. The attacker was shot dead at the scene by officers.
The Gun Violence Archive reports that at least 198 gun attacks were carried out in the country in 2023, the highest level since 2016.
