Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Turkish Republic, was commemorated on the 85th anniversary of his death with a ceremony held in Atatürk Park in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. The ceremony started with Türkiye’s Baku Ambassador Cahit Bağcı and TRNC Deputy Prime Minister Fikri Ataoğlu laying wreaths on the Atatürk statue and continued with the singing of the Turkish national anthem.
Apart from Turkish, Cypriot, and Azerbaijani politicians, the ceremony was attended by lecturers, students, and representatives of non-governmental organizations.
