After former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan was detained on corruption charges, protests broke out across the country. The protests led to clashes between Khan supporters and police, resulting in 9 deaths and 290 injuries. The violence forced the closure of schools and blocked some highways. In addition to Khan, two senior leaders, including former minister Asad Umar, were also arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). Pakistani Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah confirmed Khan’s arrest, stating that he had been detained for ignoring warnings to surrender.
