A massive explosion occurred in a truck carrying fuel in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. While the truck turned into a fireball in the explosion, the balconies of the surrounding houses, many vehicles and electricity poles were damaged due to the flames. “The flames were extinguished by the Jounieh Civil Defense teams. While the teams continue their operations to clean up the pieces of debris, efforts are being made to ensure public safety at the scene,” the state media said in a statement. Meanwhile, the traffic in the area turned back to normal after the fire brought under control. Also, there were no casualties recorded in the explosion.
On the other hand, local media reported that the truck driver had fled scene before the explosion and couldn’t be found yet.
