Abandoned Turkish Village Offers Unique Backdrop for Film Industry

Emirhan village, near Sivas in Türkiye, is gaining attention for its cinematic landscape and 400-year history. Abandoned 46 years ago due to harsh winter conditions, the village, now in ruins, features stone structures and stunning views, reminiscent of Western movie sets. Recently cleared of treasure hunters, it has become a popular spot for campers and photographers. Yasin Arslan, a local, noted that Emirhan’s history, scenic Emirhan Rocks, and the presence of mountain goats make it ideal for filming and tourism. Authorities plan to further develop the area for sports and cultural activities.
