Activists Target Picasso’s Painting to Protest Arms Sales to Israel in England

Members of the Youth Demand activist group, which is protesting arms sales to Israel, covered Picasso’s painting La Maternite (Motherhood) in the National Gallery in London, England, with a photograph of a Gazan mother and child.

The activist group emphasized in a statement that the British government is arming Israel to carry out a genocide against Palestinians and called on the government to impose an arms embargo on Israel.

The National Gallery stated that the painting was not damaged and that two protesters were detained.
