Adıyaman’s Kahta Castle Reopened for Visits

The Kahta Castle, which dates back to the Hittite period in the Kocahisar village of Adıyaman and was closed to tourism in 2005 due to the safety reasons, was reopened to visits after completion of the restoration works. It is anticipated that the 2000-year-old castle, located in the destination of Mount Nemrut, will be one of the important visiting points of tourists.

Although its restoration was completed in 2022, the castle was damaged in the devastating earthquakes that took place on February 6 last year and closed again for repair.
