After defrauded with hope of treatment, disabled woman took shelter in French airport

Came France after hope of treatment, 37 years old Georgian origin Ia Martkophlishvili was left on the streets after she couldn’t find people that promised her to help. Being left disabled and keep on living with her wheelchair after giving birth, Martkophlishvili expecting help form officials. Got married in Georgia 10 years ago and became pregnant despite its was regarded risky by doctors, Martkophlishvili became disabled due to a disorder while giving birth. Meanwhile, being not able to walk, her hands lost their strength and lost the ability to speak, Martkophlishvili abandoned by her husband due to her disabilities. Martkophlishvili, who came to France after entrust her child to her mother, said in a statement that she first applied for treatment to a private hospital in Turkey. Martkophlishvili said that doctors in hospital told her she would recover absolutely with a surgery, but she couldn’t go under surgery due to its high price. She said that she met a Georgian person who living in France on internet and she came to France after that person told her “Come to France and we will get you threated in here, we will look after you”, but no one welcomed her in the airport.

“No one came to take me, I cried hours long. Later, 2  Georgian teenagers heard my crying and understood my language from my speech. They came to help me,” Martkophlishvili said. She said that teenagers first took her home to look after her but they later on ask her to stay in the car on account of no room left in home for her. “It was freezing, and also was very dangerous. I was being scared. I had a blanket on me” Martkophlishvili said. Martkophlishvili state that she lived in the car for 1 week but later on teenagers told they can’t look after her and they brought her back to airport on account of there was safer and hotter. While saying that she still being grateful to Georgian teenagers even though they brought her back to airport, Martkophlishvili told that she able to request for asylum due to those teenagers. While explaining her conditions in the airport, “French Social Services bring food every 3 days. Thank goodness for that. Most of the nights I sleep hungry, I can eat only if someone help,” Martkophlishvili said. She state that French Social Services promised housing to her but she still living in airport for 41 days.
