Aftershock of 5.6-magnitude occurred in Malatya

Another aftershock of a magnitude of 5.6 struck around 12.04 p.m. in Türkiye, with the epicenter in Malatya’s Yeşilyurt district. The 6.9-kilometer-deep earthquake was felt in nearby cities, including Elazığ.

According to Yunus Sezer, Director of Disaster and Emergency Management President (AFAD), at least one person was killed and 69 were injured in the earthquake. “There are reports that 25 buildings have collapsed so far. Search and rescue operations have been stepped up in five buildings,” Sezer said.
