Akkoyunlu-Era Cemetery Discovered in Türkiye

A cemetery dating back to the Akkoyunlu period has been uncovered in Muş’s Bulanık district in Türkiye. Following examinations by the Provincial Gendarmerie’s Environment and Nature Protection Team, steps are underway to safeguard the site, located in the villages of Akçaarmut and Yokuşbaşı. Cultural artifacts were identified at the site, prompting the Muş Directorate of Culture and Tourism to work on designating the area as a “strictly protected zone.” Security patrols have been heightened to prevent illegal excavations and preserve the historical site.
