A diplomatic crisis broke out between Albania and Iran after alleged cyber-attack. In a video message published today, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama stated that as a result of the extensive investigation, undeniable evidence was obtained that the cyber-attack on the country’s digital infrastructure was carried out by Iran. Rama stated that they had severed all diplomatic relations with Iran as a result of the cyber-attack, adding, “The decision has been officially conveyed to the Tirana Embassy of Iran.” “We asked them to leave the territory of the Republic of Albania within 24 hours of all personnel, including diplomatic, technical, administrative, and security personnel,” he said.
All official digital platforms, including the e-Albania government portal, were crashed in Albania on July 15 after cyber-attacks.
