An official oath-taking ceremony for Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, who was re-elected on January 26, was held yesterday at the Independence Palace in Minsk, Belarus.
In his speech at the ceremony, Lukashenko promised that he would serve the people faithfully, respect and protect people’s rights and freedoms, and abide by and protect the country’s constitution in his 7th term.
The Belarusian Central Election Commission announced that Lukashenko won the election held on January 26 with 86.82 percent of the votes.
