Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow during the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Heads of State Meeting. The leaders discussed the economy, trade, and ongoing efforts to deepen cooperation between their countries. Aliyev highlighted the progress in bilateral relations since Putin’s visit to Azerbaijan in August, emphasizing the need for continued attention to joint projects.
Putin noted that trade between Azerbaijan and Russia has reached $4.3 billion, with Russian investments exceeding $4 billion. The meeting also touched on collaborative initiatives in energy and infrastructure. Putin invited Aliyev to the upcoming BRICS Plus summit in Kazan, which Aliyev gladly accepted.
