Ambassador Bridge on Canada-US border reopens after Covid-19 protests

Ambassador Bridge, which is a vital link where 25 percent of goods between the US and Canada passes on an estimated 10,000 trucks each day, reopens after protests. The protesters on the Ambassador Bridge that were protesting vaccine mandates in Canada, were dispersed about a week after the intervention by the police and the bridge would be reopened to crossings in a short time, officials stated. Most of the vehicles involved in the incident left the bridge peacefully after the police warnings, however the other demonstrators who did not comply with the warnings of the police were detained and their vehicles were towed.

Protests also spread outside of Canada. Reacting to the Covid-19 restrictions, the protesters moved towards Paris with convoys of caravans, cars and trucks yesterday to blockade the capital of France, Paris, despite the police ban.
