France forest fire forces evacuation of 540 people

A forest fire has been spreading in the Gironde region of southwest France since Monday.  So far, 1,300 hectares have been burned. “Four houses and several buildings were burned,” Gironde Governorate stated. More than 500 people have been evacuated from their homes. Around 350 firefighters and 6 planes are responding to the fire.
