Israel held a memorial ceremony for the six million Jewish victims of the Nazi genocide, in Jerusalem. Israeli President Reuven Rivlin and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, laid a wreath at Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial. Israelis, observed a moment of silence in central Jerusalem as sirens sound throughout the country.

Main opposition party wins Greenland election

Greenland’s main opposition party ‘Inuit Ataqatigiit’ has won the early parliamentary election.  The left-wing Inuit Ataqatigiit secured 37% of votes and Its rival, the ruling social democratic ‘Siumut’ party has won 29% of votes, according to official results. Inuit Ataqatigiit which has strong environmental focus campaigned against an international mining project in Kvanefjeld.

Inmates wanted after escape from prison in Nigeria

The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) said on Monday that 1,844 inmates have escaped after gunmen attack on its custodial center in Owerri, the state capital of the southern state of Imo. Dutch flag cargo ship’s crew rescued by helicopter

The crew of a Dutch cargo ship ‘Eemslift Hendrika’ rescued by Norway’s Joint Rescue Coordination Center teams in west coast of Norway. All 12 crew members have been safely evacuated by helicopters after issuing a distress signal. The cargo ship is in danger of sinking and drifting ashore, Norwegian officials said.
