An alligator attacked its handler at the Scale & Tails reptile petting zoo during a child’s birthday party in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. A man accompanying children watching the event jumped in the water and saved the woman whose hand was grasped in alligator’s jaws. The handler was taken to the hospital.

Hurricane Grace, which formed in the Atlantic Ocean, hit Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula after Jamaica and the Cayman Islands. In the state of Quintana Roo, many hotels in the area were evacuated. Authorities ordered the closure of all workplaces and declared a curfew. The hurricane affected the supply of electricity, internet, telephone and drinking water.
A fire broke out on a small truck on the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge in California, USA. The cylinders loaded with propane gas caught fire, which caused two explosions. The bridge was closed to traffic. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene, and no casualties or injuries were reported.
