An airliner made an emergency landing after a snake got into the cabin in Malaysia

On Thursday, a snake entered inside of an Airbus A320 type airliner belonging to AirAsia Airlines, while it was traveling from the Malaysia’s capital Kuala Lumpur to Tawau city. While the passengers were recorded the snake in the plane’s upper compartment, the airliner made an emergency landing in Kuching city after the incident. After the images shared on social media, AirAsia’s Chief Safety Officer Liong Tien Ling made a statement regarding the incident.
“As soon as the captain was aware, he made the decision to divert the aircraft to Kuching as a precautionary measure to fumigate the aircraft,” Liong said. “At no time was the safety of guests or crew at any risk,” Liong said while stating that the captain took “appropriate precautions” by prioritizing the safety of the passengers and the crew.
Meanwhile, the airliner passengers were diverted to Tawau after the emergency landing.
