An operation conducted against cryptocurrency mining machines in Hatay

The works to prevent smuggling incidents carried out by Hatay Provincial Gendarmerie Command with Department of Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime, and Department of Anti-Cybercrime teams, continues. Teams took action after an information that the cryptocurrency mining machine, which is used in production of cryptocurrency, will be shipped to Adana city by a vehicle from the Reyhanlı district of Hatay city, Turkey. After detected with the operation conducted under the coordination of the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, the vehicle stopped within the borders of Erzin district on the Hatay-Adana highway. During the search of the vehicle, 23 cryptocurrency mining machines, which were determined to be smuggled and have a market value of approximately 1 million Turkish Liras, 24 power supplies and 3 hash boards were seized. Also, judicial proceedings have been initiated against the detained suspects named A.A. and K.A..
