Anak Krakatau Volcano in Indonesia Erupts, Releasing Ash and Smoke

Anak Krakatau Volcano, situated on Indonesia’s Anak Krakatoa Island, experienced two eruptions within an hour. The Indonesian Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation Center (PVMBG) reported that the volcano emitted ash and smoke reaching a height of 3,000 meters. Although the volcano’s alert level was raised to 2, no evacuation orders have been issued for nearby residential areas. PVMBG has cautioned both tourists and residents to avoid approaching the volcano.
