Palu district, located in the Upper Euphrates section of the Türkiye’s Eastern Anatolia Region, recently welcomed its first visitors of the season. With a rich history spanning approximately 7 thousand years, Palu has served as a cultural crossroads for numerous civilizations. From the Sumerians, Hurrians, and Hittites to the Assyrians, Urartians, and Persians, the district has witnessed the presence of various ancient civilizations. Later on, the Romans, Sassanids, Byzantines, Umayyads, Abbasids, Artuqids, Seljuks, Mongols, Dulkadir Principality, and the Ottoman Empire all made their mark on Palu.

Visitors now have the opportunity to explore and capture the district’s natural beauty, seamlessly blending with the picturesque Murat River. One of the must-visit sites is the Palu Castle, offering a magnificent vantage point for observing and photographing the surrounding landscapes.
